Muskegon, MI — Talen Verburg collected four hits in four at bats, as Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) defeated Reeths-Puffer Varsity Rockets 12-8 on Tuesday. Verburg singled in the fifth inning, singled in the seventh inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Reeths-Puffer Varsity Rockets got on the board in the first inning after one run scored on another play. Cam Myers earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity). The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and eight runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking three. Jack Yonkman started on the bump for Reeths-Puffer Varsity Rockets. The righty surrendered five hits and four runs (zero earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) amassed 14 hits in the game. Lewandowski drove the middle of the lineup, leading Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) with four runs batted in.
