Jenison, MI — Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) could not keep up with Jenison Varsity Wildcats 8-4 on Thursday. Jenison Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Parker Felgner doubled to center field, and Case Bosch hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a triple by AJ Roszkowski, and a fielder's choice by Ethan Sova. Jenison Varsity Wildcats flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring six runs on seven hits to take the lead, 8-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Ben Slagter that drove in two. Slagter earned the win for Jenison Varsity Wildcats. The right-handed pitcher surrendered seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Aryn Taylor took the loss for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity). The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs on four hits, striking out three and walking three. Ben Kieliszewski, Talen Verburg, Sova, and Roszkowski each drove in one run for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity).
