Grand Haven, MI — Ethan Sova drove in four runs on two hits to lead Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) past Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers 11-6 on Tuesday. Sova singled in the sixth scoring two, hit a sacrifice fly in the first scoring one, and singled in the fifth scoring one.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) were the first to get on the board in the first when Sova hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Cam Myers hit a sacrifice fly, and Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers committed an error, each scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers went back into the lead after Braxton Wilson singled to center field, Xzavier Rodriguez singled to center field, and Sawyer Harrison was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) made the score 7-4 in the top of the fifth after Sova singled, scoring one run, and Cole Nyman doubled, scoring three runs.
AJ Roszkowski earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity). The pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking none. Jacob Lynn took the loss for Grand Haven Varsity Buccaneers. The hurler went three innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out none and walking none.
