Sparta, MI — Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) defeated Sparta Junior Varsity Spartans 17-3 on Friday at Sparta High School Baseball Field thanks in part to nine runs in the sixth inning. Ryan Keizer induced Gavin Seabert to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Hayden Paggeot drew a walk, scoring one run, Jake Paoletti singled, scoring one run, Brody Nichols singled, scoring two runs, Noah Miller drew a walk, scoring one run, Chase Whisler drew a walk, scoring one run, Bryce Freese drew a walk, scoring one run, and Seabert drew a walk, scoring one run.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) got on the board in the first inning after Whisler singled, scoring one run.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Jaeger Tidey and Justin Golembeske.
A tag up by Freese extended the Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) lead to 5-0 in the top of the third inning.
