Jenison, MI — Bryce Freese collected three hits in four at bats, as Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) defeated Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats 7-4 on Tuesday at Jenison High School Baseball Field. Freese doubled in the sixth inning, singled in the seventh inning, and singled in the third inning. A single by Oliver Olmstead on an 0-2 count put Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) on the board in the top of the first. Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the second when an error scored two runs, and a wild pitch scored one run. Hayden Paggeot singled down the right field line, which helped Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) tie the game at three in the top of the third. In the top of the fourth, Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) broke up the tie when Quentin Raffler singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Jaeger Tidey followed to extend the lead to 5-3. Gavin Seabert earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV). The righty allowed one hit and three runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking five. Blake Lafler started on the mound for Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats. The hurler surrendered eight hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking two.
