Jenison, MI — Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) could not keep up with Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats 4-2 on Tuesday at Jenison High School Baseball Field.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jaeger Tidey singled to center field, and Noah Miller walked, each scoring one run.
Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Rowan VanLaan singled down the right field line, Mason Kennedy singled to center field, and Connor Creighton singled to center field, each scoring one run.
VanLaan earned the win for Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats. The starter allowed two hits and two runs (one earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking five. Lincoln Snow started on the bump for Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV). The hurler allowed three hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, striking out two and walking three.
Tidey and Justin Golembeske each collected one hit for Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV). Miller and Tidey were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV). Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Golembeske had the most chances in the field with seven.
Kennedy provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. VanLaan led Jenison Junior Varsity Wildcats with two hits in three at bats.
