Norton Shores, MI — Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) were triumphant over Mona Shores Junior Varsity Sailors 4-1 on Friday at Mona Shores High School. Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) opened the scoring in the first after Justin Golembeske singled, scoring one run. Nathan VanEtten singled to center field, which helped Mona Shores Junior Varsity Sailors tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) took the lead in the top of the second. Quentin Raffler singled, scoring one run, to give Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) the leg up, 2-1. Lincoln Snow earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV). The righty gave up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Andy Weiss took the loss for Mona Shores Junior Varsity Sailors. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking one. Leadoff hitter Raffler led Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) with two hits in three at bats. Elliott Davis stole three bases. Caledonia Fighting Scots (JV) ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game. Max Silva, Jayden Hawkins, VanEtten, and Gawkowski each collected one hit for Mona Shores Junior Varsity Sailors. VanEtten went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
