Competitive Game Ends In Walkoff As Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) Falls To Byron Center Freshman Bulldogs

Byron Center, MI — A walk-off left Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Byron Center Freshman Bulldogs on Wednesday. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the fifth when Jackson Sonntag singled, scoring one run.
Byron Center Freshman Bulldogs opened the scoring in the first after a wild pitch scored one run.
A tag up by Owen Meginley extended the Byron Center Freshman Bulldogs lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) jumped into the lead in the top of the third when Sawyer Tague drew a walk, scoring one run, and Logan Pratt tripled, scoring three runs.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Byron Center Freshman Bulldogs went back into the lead after Jackson Thomas walked, and Sonntag singled up the middle, each scoring one run.
Pratt began the game for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen). The starting pitcher gave up four hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out none and walking three. Thomas began the game for Byron Center Freshman Bulldogs. The left-handed pitcher allowed four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking eight.
Evan Crater, Lleyton Finlan, JJ Abbott, Pratt, and Jimmy Holmes each collected one hit for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen).
