Rockford, MI — Rockford Freshman Rams scored 10 runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) 12-2 on Friday at Rockford High School.
A double by Grady Twigg put Rockford Freshman Rams on the board in the bottom of the second.
Rockford Freshman Rams scored 10 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the third inning. Brady Pelak singled, scoring one run, Colin Toole drew a walk, scoring one run, Landon Tiffany singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Kade Morgan singled, scoring one run, Trey Currie singled, scoring one run, Jacob Lawrence singled, scoring two runs, and Tiffany drew a walk, scoring one run.
Brennan Burns took the loss for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen). The hurler went two and one-third innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking three. Micah Frazier stepped on the bump first for Rockford Freshman Rams. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking three.
Sawyer Tague drove the middle of the lineup, leading Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) turned one double play in the game.
