Both teams were strong on the mound on Monday, but Wilton was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 2-1 victory over Westhill Junior Varsity Vikings. Elliot Nerenberg started the game for Westhill Junior Varsity Vikings and recorded 21 outs.
Elliot Nerenberg struck out 14 batters on the day. The hurler also surrendered four hits and one run over seven innings while walking one.
Westhill Junior Varsity Vikings got on the board in the fourth inning after a steal of home scored one run.
Gilchrist was struck by a pitch, which helped Wilton tie the game at one in the top of the fifth.
An error gave Wilton the lead, 2-1, in the top of the eighth.

Gilchrist led the team with one run batted in. Sweetuns went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wilton in hits. Fox and Sweetuns each stole multiple bases for Wilton. Wilton stole five bases in the game. Wilton turned one double play in the game.
