First-Inning Spurt Lead Enterprise Hornets Past Redding Christian Lions

Redding, CA — Enterprise Lady Hornets scored nine runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Redding Christian Lions 14-2 on Friday. Lannamae Saelee singled, scoring one run, Sadie Ross doubled, scoring two runs, Emma Souza drew a walk, scoring one run, Jenna Baxter drew a walk, scoring one run, Melyiah Del Rosario grounded out, scoring one run, Maya Hubbs singled, scoring two runs, and Saelee grounded out, scoring one run.
The Lady Hornets scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Carly Graham singled, scoring two runs, Ross was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, a steal of home scored one run, and Baxter singled, scoring one run.
Hubbs earned the win for the Hornets. The hurler gave up two hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two and walking six. Taylor G took the loss for Redding Christian Lions. The hurler went four innings, allowing 14 runs (13 earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking six.
Hubbs set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Enterprise Hornets with two hits in three at bats. Souza led Enterprise with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. The Lady Hornets ran wild on the base paths, piling up five stolen bases for the game. Enterprise turned one double play in the game.
Brooklyn G and Aubrey S were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Redding Christian Lions. S and Miki Lane each drove in one run for Redding Christian Lions. G led Redding Christian Lions with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Redding Christian Lions turned one double play in the game.
