Recap
La Verne, CA — The Tustin Tillers lost to the Damien Spartans on the road by a 24-7 margin on Friday. The Tillers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Tustin still got an impressive performance from Jeremiah Salvant, who rushed for 83 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Salvant showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.
Tustin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Devon Benavente and Khalil Terry. Jalen Gay was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Tustin's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Tustin will head out to face off against Yorba Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so the Tillers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
