Yorba Linda, CA — After losing to Yorba Linda the last time they met, Tustin decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tillers enjoyed a cozy 21-7 win over the Mustangs on Friday. A big part of Tustin's victory came down to the chemistry between Ayden Edwards and his top target Hayden Koo. Edwards threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes while Koo picked up 80 receiving yards and one score. What's more, Edwards racked up 123.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Edwards' aerial production (94 yards to be exact) also went to Jeremiah Salvant. Tustin's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Jon Ioane was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Another thorn in Yorba Linda's side was Jeremiah Williams, who picked up a sack, made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass. Tustin now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Yorba Linda, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1. Tustin will get a bit of extra prep time before their next match. The next time the Tillers see the field they'll take on Cypress at 7:00 p.m. on October 2.
