Show Low, AZ — By GameChanger Media Riley Heuett hit three home runs and drove in five as Show Low Varsity Cougars defeated Coolidge bears 16-2 on Saturday. Heuett homered in the third, fourth, and second innings. Coolidge bears were the first to get on the board in the second when an error scored one run. Show Low Varsity Cougars took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Heuett homered to left field, Angelee Villa homered to left field, Rylee Wyatt tripled down the left field line, and Coolidge bears committed an error, each scoring one run. Show Low Varsity Cougars extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the third thanks to home runs by Heuett and Gracie Umphress. Show Low Varsity Cougars scored eight runs on eight hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Avery Ervien doubled, scoring one run, Heuett homered to left field, scoring two runs, Villa doubled, scoring one run, Aspyn Clark homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Addisyn Clark homered to center field, scoring two runs. Clark earned the win for Show Low Varsity Cougars. The hurler surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking two. Autumn Hoover took the loss for Coolidge bears. The starter went four innings, giving up 16 runs on 19 hits, striking out one and walking none. Clark tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Show Low Varsity Cougars in relief. The hurler gave up one hit, striking out none and walking none. Show Low Varsity Cougars piled up 19 hits in the game. Heuett, Villa, and Clark each collected three hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Clark, Umphress, Wyatt, Ervien, and Ari Rivera each collected multiple hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Azaria White led the team with one run batted in.
