Tucson, AZ — Lady Lancers Dominate in 10-0 Shutout Over Poston Butte The Salpointe Catholic Varsity Lady Lancers delivered a commanding 10-0 victory over the Poston Butte Varsity Broncos on Saturday, showcasing both power at the plate and dominance on the mound. The Lancers wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the first inning, Isabel Otero laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to bring in a run, followed by a clutch RBI single from Brooke Wild. They poured it on in the second inning, capitalizing on two hits and a couple of Bronco miscues. Leylani Cuesta launched a two-run homer to left field, highlighting a four-run inning that extended the lead to 5-0. In the fourth, the Lancers struck again. Another defensive miscue from Poston Butte opened the door before Molli Daley crushed a two-run homer to left, pushing the score to 9-0. Another error later in the inning tacked on the final run. On the mound, Macee Jackson was nearly untouchable. She tossed a five-inning shutout, allowing just three hits, striking out eight, and walking none to earn the win. Offensively, Daley and Cuesta led the charge, each driving in two runs. The Lady Lancers were flawless in the field, not committing a single error, with Sarah Camp anchoring the defense with eight plays. For the Broncos, Kimberly Westover, Jasmine Barrera, and Isabell Aguilera each tallied a hit, but it wasn’t enough to crack the Lancer defense. With a dominant blend of pitching, power, and precision, the Lady Lancers proved once again why they’re a force to be reckoned with.
