Hawks loose in First Round of Super Regionals to the Moscow Bears in a First Ever Double Elimination Tournament

Moscow Varsity Bears scored six runs in the seventh inning, which helped them defeat Skyview Varsity Hawks 11-5 on Friday.
Skyview Varsity Hawks opened the scoring in the second after Trevan Plew singled, scoring one run.
Moscow Varsity Bears flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to right field by Gunnar Holloway that drove in three.
Moscow Varsity Bears scored six runs on five hits in the top of the seventh inning. JP Breese drew a walk, scoring one run, Sam Rigney singled, scoring one run, Wyatt Hartig was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored two runs, and Tyson Izzo singled, scoring one run.
Butch Kiblen earned the win for Moscow Varsity Bears. The starter surrendered six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Joe Bernal took the loss for Skyview Varsity Hawks. The righty went three innings, giving up five runs on four hits, striking out two and walking six.
Ledger Downs led Skyview Varsity Hawks with two hits in three at bats. Henry Downey led Skyview Varsity Hawks with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Elijah Strong and Downs each stole multiple bases for Skyview Varsity Hawks. Skyview Varsity Hawks stole six bases in the game.
Moscow Varsity Bears amassed 10 hits in the game. Holloway, the number seven hitter for Moscow Varsity Bears, led the way with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Andrew Hurley and Rigney each collected three hits for Moscow Varsity Bears. Izzo collected two hits for Moscow Varsity Bears in four at bats. Breese paced Moscow Varsity Bears with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Moscow Varsity Bears turned one double play in the game.
Skyview Varsity Hawks play at home on Saturday against Nampa Varsity Bulldogs in their next game.
