Sterling Heights, MI — The Center Line Panthers continued their hot start to the season Friday night, overwhelming Sterling Heights 54-0 to move to 3-0 for the first time since 2003. Junior running back Masai Ali led the way with three scores, showcasing his versatility with a 65-yard punt return, a 23-yard touchdown reception, and a 55-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Matt Fizia had a standout performance, completing 6 of 9 passes for 116 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with Maleek Evans on a 15-yard strike, found Ali for a 23-yard score, and hit Corday White on a 50-yard touchdown. Fizia also added a 5-yard rushing touchdown. Junior wide receiver/defensive back Darius Wallace added to the explosive night with a 40-yard touchdown run. Defensively, the Panthers were just as dominant. Senior linebacker Corday White recorded six tackles, while fellow seniors Amarion Lyte and Antwan Finklea chipped in five tackles each. Freshman Gary Teal made his presence felt with two sacks. The win keeps Center Line unbeaten as they continue their push to build on their best start in over two decades.
