Recap
Centerline, MI — Center Line Falls to State Finalist Power Marine City 50-14
Center Line couldn’t overcome a rough start Friday night, falling 50-14 to perennial power and state finalist Marine City. Early turnovers and costly mistakes put the Panthers in a deep hole that they weren’t able to climb out of.
Junior running back Masai Ali was limited to 84 rushing yards but managed to punch in one touchdown. Darius Wallace provided a highlight late, breaking free for a 70-yard score.
With starting quarterback play disrupted, backup Corday White stepped in, completing 9 of 15 passes for 70 yards but was intercepted twice. White also contributed on the defensive side with five tackles.
Defensively, senior linebacker Antwan Finklea led with seven tackles, including two for loss. On offense, junior Maleek Evans caught three passes for 19 yards.
The Panthers will look to clean up mistakes and bounce back as they continue MAC play.
