Rochester, MI — Adams Varsity Highlanders Go Down On Final Play Against Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks By GameChanger Media A walk-off left Adams Varsity Highlanders on the wrong end of a 4-3 defeat to Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks on Thursday at Rochester Adams High School. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the eighth when Avery Howland singled, scoring one run. A home run to center field by Anna Carlson put Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks on the board in the bottom of the first. Stella Phillips lined out, which helped Adams Varsity Highlanders tie the game at two in the top of the seventh. A double by Elle Moody gave Adams Varsity Highlanders the lead, 3-2, in the top of the eighth. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks went back into the lead after Adams Varsity Highlanders committed an error, and Howland singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Britton Howland earned the win for Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks. The reliever gave up two hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Olivia Viazanko took the loss for Adams Varsity Highlanders. The starting pitcher went seven and one-third innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out seven and walking three. Howland led things off in the circle for Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one. Moody provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Adams Varsity Highlanders with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day.
