Richland, MI — Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) took down Gull Lake 9-4 on Friday. Gull Lake jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Lenzinger doubled, scoring two runs, and Bernard singled, scoring one run. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Evan Crater stole home, and Brennan Burns walked, each scoring one run. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) committed an error, which helped Gull Lake tie the game at four in the bottom of the fourth. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen) flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 9-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Gage Openshaw that drove in two. Sawyer Tague earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Freshmen).
