Ann Arbor, MI — The Saline JV football team put together a commanding performance Thursday night, defeating the Skyline Eagles 58-0. The Hornets set the tone early when Trey Foster returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown. Foster nearly added another special teams score with a punt return to the end zone, but it was called back due to a penalty behind the play. Saline’s defense and special teams shined all night. Jackson VanDoren blocked a punt, the Hornets successfully recovered an onside kick, and Hayden Uphaus came up with a fumble recovery to keep momentum rolling. On offense, the Hornets spread the scoring around. Graham Nadig, Hunter Orr, Bennett DeGrand, Trey Foster, and Austin Falkowski each found the end zone on the ground. Falkowski also showcased his arm, connecting with Brady Baldwin and Archie Gates for touchdown passes. Adding to the scoring barrage, Zac Charlefour drilled a 38-yard field goal to cap off a balanced offensive effort. It was a true team win, with contributions across the board and strong execution in all three phases of the game. The Hornets look to keep the momentum rolling next week as they take on the Pioneer Pioneers.
