Laguna Beach, CA — The Breakers proved they can win in all three phases, knocking off Tesoro 36–15 under the lights at Guyer Field to stay undefeated at 3–0. Junior quarterback Jack Hurst once again commanded the offense with poise, throwing for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 18 completions. His favorite connection of the night came with Brady Stringham, who exploded for 109 yards and three scores, including a 35-yard dagger that broke the game open. Jack Hooper added five catches for 34 yards and a touchdown, while Wyatt Bogdan chipped in with 31 receiving yards. On the ground, freshman Charlie Christian gave the Breakers balance, rushing for 50 yards and punching in a touchdown, continuing his breakout campaign. The defense rose to the occasion as well. Bob Gardner and Noah Thompson each came away with interceptions, shutting down the Titan passing game and keeping momentum firmly on Laguna’s side. Gardner also chipped in offensively with 15 receiving yards. Special teams may have been the biggest spark. Hooper electrified the crowd with 146 kick-return yards, including an 89-yard return that set up Laguna deep in Tesoro territory. Meanwhile, Stringham was perfect on PATs, drilling all four of his attempts. By night’s end, Laguna Beach had piled up 384 all-purpose yards while holding Tesoro to just 15 points. The Breakers are rolling, and next week they’ll look to keep the streak alive when they travel to face El Dorado on Saturday, September 19.
