Tucson, AZ — Salpointe Soars: Collins Leads Lancers to Season-High 52-0 Blowout
Winning feels good — but dropping a season-high 52 points while pitching a shutout? That’s a statement. Salpointe Catholic absolutely dominated Vista Grande on Thursday, cruising to a 52-0 victory that showed just how dangerous this team can be when everything clicks.
The Lancers’ offense was firing on all cylinders, and at the heart of it all was freshman sensation Isla Collins. Collins put together a career night, throwing for 259 yards and five touchdowns while completing nearly 76% of her passes. She didn’t stop there — she also tacked on 76 rushing yards and a touchdown on just six carries. Her five passing scores marked a new season high and cemented her status as one of the top young quarterbacks in the region.
Her go-to target, Kenna Johnson, continued her hot streak with 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns, making big plays when it mattered most.
With the win, Salpointe Catholic improves to 4-0, keeping their perfect season alive. The Spartans, meanwhile, fall to 1-4 as they look to regroup.
Next up, both teams have Desert View on their schedules — the Lancers travel to face the Jaguars on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., while the Spartans will get their shot on the 16th, also at 6:00 p.m.
