Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs Fall To Emmaus After Surrendering Big Sixth Inning

Emmaus, PA — Emmaus scored four runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs 7-1 on Monday.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs opened the scoring in the fourth after McFetridge singled, scoring one run.
Emmaus captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth when Derr homered to center field, scoring two runs, and DeFanti singled, scoring one run.
Eiswerth earned the win for Emmaus. The hurler surrendered four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Laub took the loss for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs. The pitcher went six innings, surrendering seven runs (four earned) on 10 hits, striking out six and walking two.
McFetridge went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Laub and McFetridge each collected two hits for Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs.
Emmaus piled up 10 hits in the game. Hauver set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Emmaus with four hits in four at bats. Derr and Eiswerth were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Emmaus. Bennett collected two hits for Emmaus in four at bats.
