Espinal’s Big Day Propels Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs Past Allentown Central Catholic

Whitehall, PA — Espinal drove in five runs on two hits to lead Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs past Allentown Central Catholic 13-3 on Monday. Espinal doubled in the fourth scoring three, singled in the second scoring one, and walked in the third scoring one.
Allentown Central Catholic opened the scoring in the first after Lewis grounded out, scoring one run.
Laub singled to right field, which helped Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs jumped into the lead in the bottom of the second when Muth singled, scoring one run, Shultz doubled, scoring two runs, and Espinal singled, scoring one run.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Laub singled up the middle, and Espinal walked, each scoring one run.
Whitehall Varsity Zephyrs scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Muth drew a walk, scoring one run, Laub drew a walk, scoring one run, and Espinal doubled, scoring three runs.
