Tucson, AZ — Salpointe Catholic’s winning ways rolled on Tuesday night — but not without a fight. The Lancers stretched their streak to four straight victories after outlasting the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts in a five-set thriller, 3–2.
Leading the charge was Reagan Burgle, who turned in a monster performance with 30 digs and two aces. Burgle has been automatic from the service line lately, tallying two or more aces in four straight matches.
After trading blows all night, Salpointe came through in the clutch, taking the deciding set 15–13 to seal the win. The final tally: 14–25, 25–12, 25–20, 21–25, 15–13.
With the victory, Salpointe improves to 28–8 on the season, while Mica Mountain drops to 18–9 after suffering their second straight loss. Both teams now look ahead to what’s next — and for Salpointe, momentum is clearly on their side.
