Shelton, CT — The Shelton High School Gaelettes came up short in a hard-fought 2–1 battle against Danbury on Pink Night. The evening kicked off strong as the JV squad rolled to a 5–0 victory over the Hatters. In the varsity matchup, Danbury struck first, but Shelton quickly answered when Abby Texeira buried a goal off a feed from Maddy Bartlett. The Hatters regained the lead early in the third quarter, and despite a strong defensive effort from goalie Scarlet Riccitelli and Maddy Mosher, the Gaelettes couldn’t find the equalizer. Off the field, the Pink Night festivities were a big success in support of the American Cancer Society. Shelton will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Amity for a key SCC matchup with the Spartans.
