Shelton, CT — The Shelton High School Field Hockey team dropped a hard-fought battle to Hamden, 3–0, Wednesday night at Finn Stadium. With the score tied 0–0 in the first period, Hamden was awarded a penalty stroke — but goalie Scarlet Riccitelli came up big with a great kick save to keep the game even, one of 23 saves on the night! Hamden broke through later to take a 1–0 lead at halftime. Shelton continued to pressure throughout the second half but couldn’t find the back of the net. In JV action, the Gaels were victorious 1-0. Chloe Anderson net the goal for Shelton. The Gaelettes will look to bounce back Friday when they travel to Sheehan for a key SCC matchup.
