Laguna Beach, CA — The Laguna Beach Frosh Soph team opened league play with a home game against the Northwood Timberwolves. After the opening kickoff, Laguna forced a Northwood punt. Grayson Carr broke through the line and blocked the punt and Laguna recovered it on the Northwood 14 yard line. A few plays later quarterback Hendricks McMann threw a short pass to Will Golden, who wove his way through traffic to score. Jax Trotter added the extra point. The young Breakers defense played great all day, with outstanding play by Rome Siemon, Will Golden, James Nugent and Luca Guzman. Mitch Dixon, with a cast on one hand, was able to make an interception that thwarted a late drive by Northwood. In his first starting role as quarterback, Hendricks McMann did a wonderful job guiding the offense to score 6 touchdowns. Tyler Nguyen ran great all day, including a 70 yard run for a touchdown. Weston Lewis, Colton Nassour, and Brooks Carter all played well at receiver, with several receptions each. Braxton Mousally had a spectacular touchdown reception that was unfortunately called back due to a penalty. And Steve Torres, after doing a good job all day on the offensive line, changed his jersey and went in at quarterback. Steve scrambled 35 yards for the Breakers final touchdown. All in all it was a great team performance with the final score of 39–0. The players of the game would be Hendricks McMann and Will Golden.
