Kingston, NY — KINGSTON, N.Y. — Kingston High’s girls soccer team got goals from Eden Riley and Alex Foster to beat Onteora in a non-league contest at Dietz Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
It was Riley’s first goal of the season. Foster is the Tigers’ leading scorer.
The victory leveled the Tigers’ record at 6-6, with their final Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) regular-season contest slated for Monday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Dietz Stadium.
Kingston High coach Juan Weissenberg was pleased with his team’s play.
“On our continued journey to keep improving, we did great implementing what we have been doing in practice into the game,” he said. “The girls were passing better and getting good shots on goal.”
Following the game against Pine Bush on Monday, Kingston will wrap up the regular season with a non-league contest vs. Beacon on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at home. Then Kingston will have a week to prepare for the Section 9 playoffs.
“We just need to keep the intensity up at practice, so we can continue to improve every day as we near the end of the season,” Weissenberg said. “I think we are on track to do that.”
