Ventura, CA — The Buena Bulldogs took the field on a cold, foggy night in Ventura with a clear game plan, the right mentality, and a strong sense of determination. From the opening whistle, the match featured a balanced flow of possession, opportunities, and physical play as both teams competed at a high level. Buena asserted control for much of the contest, maintaining pressure, dictating the tempo, and creating quality scoring chances. The Bulldogs’ aggressiveness and teamwork were evident throughout the match, showcasing their true ability and depth as a unit. Despite a tremendous overall performance, Rio Mesa capitalized late, scoring two goals in the final two minutes of play. Those late strikes proved to be the deciding factor, resulting in a 2–0 final in favor of Rio Mesa. While the result did not reflect the Bulldogs’ effort, Buena displayed resilience, discipline, and a high standard of play. The Bulldogs now turn their focus to Dos Pueblos, hungry and determined to build on this performance and continue competing at a high level.
