Lancers Lock Down at Home, Crush Flowing Wells 47–0
Flowing Wells 0, Salpointe Catholic 47
Tucson, AZ — There’s no place like home — and the Salpointe Catholic Lancers proved it in dominant fashion. After a tough road loss last Thursday, the Lancers bounced back with a 47–0 blowout over the Flowing Wells Caballeros, showing once again why they’re one of the toughest teams in the state.
Big wins are becoming a habit for Salpointe. This marks their eighth victory by 23 or more points this season — and this one might have been their most complete performance yet.
Quarterback Lilly Mann had a night to remember, torching the defense for 250 yards and four touchdowns, setting a new career-high in passing yards. On the defensive side, Isla Collins turned heads with a pick-six, while the Lancer secondary smothered Flowing Wells all game long, coming away with three interceptions — one each from Ani Jimenez, Collins, and Mann.
Salpointe improves to 9–1 with the win, while Flowing Wells continues to search for answers after dropping five of their last six to fall to 4–9 on the year.
Next up, Salpointe hits the road to face Nogales on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Expect a defensive showdown — both squads are stingy, with the Lancers allowing just 4.4 points per game and the Apaches 14.6. Flowing Wells will travel to take on Vista Grande next Tuesday, looking to get back in the win column.
