Chula Vista, CA — You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for West Hills on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Chula Vista Spartans as they made off with a 76-50 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolf Pack's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Spartans are ranked 1084th). Malekai Dillon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 61% from the field on his way to 27 points in addition to five boards and five steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethen Shaw, who posted eight points and nine assists. The win made it two in a row for West Hills and bumps their season record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Chula Vista, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11. Coming up, West Hills will face off against El Capitan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolf Pack will be up against the Vaqueros' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.88 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chula Vista, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
