Recap
Rochester Hills, MI — The boys started the season off with a 20 point win over a strong Clarkston program, 59-39. The charge was led by game MVP Blake Wozniak and his game high 23 points. Operating as the teams primary ball handler, Wozniak showed 3 level scoring ability, and erupted for 19 first half points. A mixture of pressure defense, unselfish basketball and sharp shooting from outside led to the team forcing multiple turnovers and hitting on 13 three pointers. The shooting barrage was led by sharp shooter Mason Eleczko, who finished with 15 points and knocked down 5 from beyond the arc, including a game sealing run of 4 in a row in the 4th quarter that put an end to Clarkston's comeback. MVP Blake Wozniak chipped in 5 of his own from three; Drew Geottes, Max Durda and Milan Patel joined the three point party as well.
Nik Nahhal set the tone defensively with his consistent ball pressure, forcing early turnovers and a team energizing play where he hit the floor for a loose ball. Nik also played a key role in the team's unselfish offense, throwing a couple full court transition passes for lay-ups. Drew Geottes showed his all around game and leadership on the floor, doing a little of everything. Drew scored 11 points, led the team in rebounding, and knocked down a pair of clutch free throws in the midst of a big Clarkston run.
Max Durda also had a strong all around game. Leading the team in steals and coming away with multiple 50/50 balls. Jeremiah Price and Brennan Lindstrom provided strong minutes off the bench. Price scored 4 points and Lindstrom added two beautiful assists. An all around team win for the Freshman boys in their first game of the season.
