Seniors Lead Wachusett to 4-1 Win Over Algonquin on Senior Night

Senior Aiden Boyce was named Player of the Game by his teammates. Aiden scored two goals and played outstanding.
Westborough, MA — Last night was Senior Night for the Wachusett Hockey Team and the Seniors showed up in a big way scoring all 4 goals and adding 5 assists.
At 9:25 of the first period Aiden Boyce scored off a great centering pass from Zach Hoadley to put Wachusett up 1-0. Lucas Brousseau also added an assist on the goal.
Algonquin would tie the game at 1 just two minutes later, but Travis Laidlaw would score the eventual game-winning goal at 13:41 of the first on the power play with assists going Cody Penniman and Ryan Flaherty.
Although the Mountaineers outshot the Titans 10-0 in the second period, they just couldn't break through and the game remained 2-1 entering the third period.
At 4:07 of the third, Ryan Flaherty gave Wachusett a little breathing room scoring on a pass from Cody Penniman. Colin Carlson also added an assist.
Aiden Boyce would finish the scoring with his second of the night at 12:18 on the power play. Flaherty earned the assist.
Trevor Staiti earned the win in net stoppin 7 of the 8 shots he faced.
This has been a great group of seniors with incredible careers. Our 10 seniors are: Brayden Allaire, Jake Penniman, Travis Laidlaw, Aiden Boyce, Zach Hoadley, Ryan Flaherty, Cody Penniman, Caden Lane, Matt Brousseau and Trevor Staiti.
The team now has a 13-1-1 record on the season and will next travel to Medford on Saturday for a 4 pm game.
