Holt, MI — Holt Rams complete the Okemos Sweep, win 29-7. The Holt Jr Rams 4th Grade Dombroski Bronze finished their regular season with an impressive 29-7 win against Okemos. The Rams put together their best overall team performance by sharing the ball and scoring mostly off passes in the first half. The Rams were tested against feisty Okemos 15 team, which had brought height and ball pressure to this end of the year contest. The Rams were led in scoring by Cameron Powell, who finished the game with nine points, two rebounds and three steals. The Rams also got a balance scoring effort from Zachary Mead with 6pts, Marquis Davis Jr & Kash James with 4pts each, and Micah Love, Jaxson James, & Jackson Dombroski scoring 2pts each, respectively. The Rams also got key steals, rebounds and deflections from both Nasir Lane and Holden Wharton. The Rams were challenged to lock in and work together, especially in the 2nd half, and responded with offensive and defensive rebounding, passing, steals and deflections - holding Okemos to only 1 basket in the second half. The Rams finish their regular season near top of the Red Cedar bronze CENTRAL division bracket with an overall record of 7-1 during the regular season and 9-2 overall. The Rams out scored their opponents 249 to 79 in Red Cedar play, which puts them 2nd overall in points and lead the dvision in scoring defense (meaning they allowed the least amount of points this season in the entire divison). The Rams will now have two weeks of practice to prepare for the end of season Red Cedar Bronze Tournament, which takes place Saturday, February 28 through Sunday, March 1.
