Piscataway, NJ — Sayreville basketball fans got their money’s worth Thursday night as the Bombers delivered a heart-stopping 68-67 victory over rival Piscataway in a game that had everything—momentum swings, clutch plays, and a roaring finish.
The Bombers came out firing, edging Piscataway 19-18 after the first quarter. But the second quarter belonged to the Chiefs, who stormed ahead with a 21-10 run, sending Sayreville into halftime trailing by 10. For most teams, that might have spelled trouble. For Sayreville, it was just the spark they needed.
The third quarter saw the Bombers claw back, outscoring Piscataway 17-13 to cut the deficit. Then came the fourth—a masterclass in resilience. Sayreville erupted for 22 points in the final frame, flipping the script and sealing the comeback in dramatic fashion.
