Bayville, NJ — Sayreville closed the Jimmy V Showcase with an impressive 77–59 victory over Donovan Catholic on the campus of Central Regional High School, using a dominant second quarter and a strong finish to secure the win. Donovan Catholic jumped out early, taking a 20–17 lead after the first quarter. Sayreville quickly shifted the momentum in the second quarter, putting together a decisive run fueled by defensive intensity and efficient offense. The Bombers overwhelmed Donovan Catholic 24–5 in the period, turning a three-point deficit into a commanding halftime advantage. The game tightened in the third quarter as Donovan Catholic made a push, outscoring Sayreville 19–11 to cut into the lead. However, the Bombers responded with poise and composure in the fourth quarter, closing the game in emphatic fashion with a 25–12 edge to put the contest away.
