San Bruno, CA — The Freshman finished the year with a thrilling come-from-behind battle against their crosstown rivals - the Mills Vikings. Down by as much as 20 points early in the game, the Freshmen battled back, showing the grit, hard work, and coaching they earned in a tough first year where many of their opponents showed no mercy in exploiting the young Mustangs' lack of experience. Instead of rolling over, they chased down the Mills Freshman team and cut the lead to four points with minutes to go but were unable to close out the final gap. Late free throws by the Vikings made the game appear less entertaining than it actually was. Hats off to Coaches Justin and CJ for an outstanding effort this season! We look forward to our Freshman Mustang Hoopers returning next year and to rounding out Coach George's Junior Varsity squad with the leadership gained from this year's commitment.
