GHS Silver Streaks Girls Basketball vs Danville @ Coles County Holiday Tournament

Mattoon, IL — The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team returned to the court after a week-long break to play their first game of the Coles County Holiday Tournament. After a fast start that saw them up by 23 at the end of the 1st quarter, the Streaks defeated the Danville Vikings by 41 points, 61-20. Galesburg has now improved to 12-1 for the season and continue a 6-game winning streak.
11 Silver Streaks found themselves on the scoreboard. Jozalyn Kilgore led with 14 points. Lily Furrow added 8 points. Khloe May and Eleanor Johnson both scored 7, and Zaniyah Carter and Grace Herchenroder finished with 6 points. The senior Olivia Springer scored 2 points, had 1 assist, 1 rebound, 1 steal and 2 blocks off the bench, and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. The Streaks went 27 of 51 from the field, 3 of 14 from deep, and 4 of 6 at the charity stripe. Galesburg grabbed 29 rebounds, had 20 assists, and turned the ball over 14 times.
