Edison, NJ — The SMS Boys Blue team moves to 2-0 on the season with a strong victory over Herbert Hoover Middle School. The Bombers won 67-43 led by their aggressive defense. Captain Colin Maher led the way with 5 assists. DJ Thomas and Landon Gregory's defense forced Hoover into a lot of 1st quarter turnovers. The Skyscraper Trio of Naeto Attah, Ryan Ruiter, and Gio Iwashyna protected the rim for 4 quarters while also wreaking havoc on the offensive glass. Hoover made an effort to go on a run in the 2nd quarter but 7th grade Tyler McQuiller came in and stopped the rush with his own dynamic performance. Shark fins were up for Tyler and Dalton Cannan who hit big shots to help the Bombers pull away. Julian, Jayvian, and Myles pitched in with good effort on defense to clinch the game. The Bombers season continues on Thursday at Thomas Jefferson Middle School.
