Mattoon, IL — The Galesburg Silver Streaks girls basketball team won their second game on Saturday for the Coles County Holiday Tournament. The Streaks put on a great defense performance in the first half allowing just 8 points to the host Mattoon and would ride that for a 56-27 victory. After a season high seventh straight victory, Galesburg is now 13-1 on the season and improve to 2-0 in the tournament. Galesburg was led in scoring by Zaniyah Carter who had 16. Jozalyn Kilgore was the other Streak in double-figures with 10. Keerah Cooper had 6 points and 3 rebounds while adding a block as she was given the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game for her fourth quarter performance. The Silver Streaks went 24 of 45 from the field, 3 of 9 from deep, and a perfect 5 for 5 from the free throw line. They finished with 29 rebounds, 12 assists, and 20 turnovers.
