South San Francisco, CA — Varsity boys started off rough by knowing they were giving up 7 forfeits in the dual, putting them at a 42 point deficit, but the matches we had head to head were ELECTRIC!! On the mat, the bearcats lost 19-20, knowing that very minor things made the difference in the matches. Dylan had a chippy match, pulling out the win with a score of 8-5, pulling out the final takedown to secure the win in the 3rd period! Liam pulled out a win via major decision with the score of 17-7! Luis teched his opponent in the 2nd period! Soren made his varsity dual debut and secured a pin for the bearcats in the 2nd period! Calvin arguably had the most nail biting match of the evening, taking a loss with the score of 12-13, but wrestling an insanely tough match against a strong, year round wrestler, and really showing off his ability to wrestle hard! George, Izayah, and Monty also toed the line against the colts, but unfortunately also took a loss for the bearcats. Varsity girls came in deep with almost a full lineup, securing us 7 forfeits to begin the dual. El Camino also had a forfeit, so the dual started off with a 36 point advantage for the bearcats. The girls ended up winning with a final score of 60-13! Akailah, Sara, and Hannah “Izzy” all came in ready to wrestle and all secured a 2nd period pin for the bearcats!! Elise and Sunaina unfortunately took a loss to the Colts, but toed the line to give it their all!
