Jerseyville, IL — Collinsville Junior Varsity Kahoks had trouble keeping up with Jersey in a 14-1 loss on Wednesday at 1101 S Liberty St.
Jersey got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brainerd walked, Kallal walked, Fessler walked, Alexander singled to center field, Wilson singled to the left side of the infield, and Griffith walked, each scoring one run.
Jersey scored five runs on six hits in the bottom of the second inning. Brainerd singled, scoring one run, Kallal doubled, scoring one run, Alexander singled, scoring one run, a passed ball scored one run, and Griffith doubled, scoring one run.
Jersey added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Beasley singled to the left side of the infield, Fessler doubled, and Wilson grounded out, each scoring one run.
Waligorski stepped in the circle first for Collinsville Junior Varsity Kahoks. The righty surrendered 12 hits and 14 runs over four and one-third innings, striking out seven and walking nine. Brainerd led things off in the circle for Jersey. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out four and walking two.
Swisher led Collinsville Junior Varsity Kahoks with one hit in two at bats. Collinsville Junior Varsity Kahoks worked the count all day, collecting five walks.
