Santa Ana, CA — The @jserra.boys_tennis team notched a big triumph on Thursday, as the Lions defeated the Mater Dei Monarchs 11-7 in a Trinity League showdown at Matchpoint Tennis Academy at Cabrillo Park in Santa Ana. JSerra is now 14-1 overall and 4-0 in league, moving into sole possession of first place and handing the Monarchs their first loss of the season. The Lions doubles’ tandems helped key the triumph, as they claimed seven of nine sets in tandem action. Seniors Cade Faul and Emilio Salgado spearheaded that effort, turning in victories of 6-3, 6-2, and 6-1. Senior Connor Faul and junior Robert Thornton powered to a 6-4 win, with Faul and junior Enzo Biundo claiming a 6-3 victory. Senior HB Warner and freshman Aidan Andren seized wins of 6-2 and 6-3. Junior Michael Geffre picked up triumphs of 7-6 and 6-1 in singles competition.
