Escondido, CA — By GameChanger Media Allison Lasher drove in six runs on two hits to lead Carlsbad Varsity Lancers past Granite Hills Varsity Eagles 7-2 on Wednesday at 3333 Bear Valley Pkwy. Lasher hit a grand slam to left field in the first inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two. Sofia Tillis struck out 10 batters on the day. The starter also gave up two hits and two runs over six innings while walking one. A ground out by Taylor Nash put Granite Hills Varsity Eagles on the board in the top of the first. A grand slam to left field by Lasher gave Carlsbad Varsity Lancers the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the first. Granite Hills Varsity Eagles scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Nash. Nash stepped in the circle first for Granite Hills Varsity Eagles. The pitcher gave up seven hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one. Kendall Rivera, Sophia Burkhart, and Lasher each collected two hits for Carlsbad Varsity Lancers. Nash provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Granite Hills Varsity Eagles with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Ariana Heninger and Nash each collected one hit for Granite Hills Varsity Eagles. Carlsbad Varsity Lancers will travel to San Marcos Varsity Knights for their next game on Tuesday.
