San Juan Capistrano, CA — The @jserra.girlslax team got back on the winning path on Thursday, as the Lions dispatched the Yorba Linda Mustangs 18-4 in a nonleague game at JSerra Catholic High School. The win improved the Lions to 6-3 on the season. Seniors Hannah Quinn and Kate Berkus, along with junior Viv Devir each scored two goals in the first period to stake JSerra to a 6-1 lead. Quinn and Berkus duplicated their scoring feat in the second period, as the Lions grabbed a 10-2 lead at halftime. Berkus and Quinn spearhead the offensive attack in the third period with two goals apiece, helping JSerra assume a 14-3 advantage after three periods. Berkus finished off her team-high seven-goal performance with a fourth period tally, while Quinn and Devir also polished off their five-goal efforts respectively with a final period score each. Senior Ava Wensley added the final goal of the contest for the Lions.
