Mulkey Town, IL — Zeigler-Royalton came out on top against Joppa-Maple Grove on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Tornadoes' pitcher stepped up to hand the Rangers a 15-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tornadoes also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2016. Matyi House made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. House was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kahli Sanders, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Capogreco, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
