Southlands Christian barely beat Sacred Heart of Jesus the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Comets a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Natalia Bargas made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Bargas was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Penny Cerrillos was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Leah Baez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Southlands Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Southlands Christian will venture away from home to square off against La Puente at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, they will head out to face off against Ramona Convent at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
