Los Angeles, CA — The @jserrahoops Boys Basketball team put forth an impressive road victory in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs on Friday, as the Lions overwhelmed the Loyola Cubs 75-46 at Loyola High School in Los Angeles.
JSerra improves to 21-12 overall and will visit Rolling Hills Prep in the quarterfinals round on Tuesday.
Senior Jaden Bailes connected on three three-pointers in the first quarter, as the Lions scored 14 of the game’s first 16 points and carried an 11-point lead into the second period.
The Lions established their dominance in the post in the second quarter, as sophomore Ryan Doane and junior Godschoice Eboigbodin combined for 14 points in the period.
Bailes ended the half with a lay-up just before the buzzer to give JSerra a 25-point halftime advantage that was not threatened in the second half.
Bailes finished with a team-high 22 points (on 8-of-12 shooting), while also collecting six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
Junior Earl Bryson added 14 points.
Eboigbodin contributed a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Doane also finished with a double-double, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
